35 Weeks Pregnant...5 weeks to go!

It is so strange to say that I am already 35 weeks pregnant. It feels as if this whole thing has just flown by. I still feel a little bit sad about it all coming to an end. I will miss having a constant connection to Bodhi...I will never have that again. It makes me tear up when I think about it. At the same time, I can't wait to watch him grow. I can't wait to meet him.

I am feeling pretty nervous about delivery. I wasn't feeling nervous until people started asking me if I was over the past week or so. Now I feel like that is all I can think about. I know it will be fine, and the outcome will be amazing of course. I just hope I can find the strength to get through it. I won't really have a choice. :-)

We had our doctors appointment today. We will start going every week now to be checked. Today they listened to Bodhi's heartbeat...and he kicked the doppler the second she put it on my stomach. He either really wants to play soccer, or he just wants his privacy. :-) His heart rate was good. My blood pressure was a little bit low, but nothing to worry about they said. They also measured my stomach and said that it is just slightly bigger than normal, but it too looks good. We then just sat with Dr. G and talked about what to look for as labor approaches. I think i may be that mother that calls every time I think something is up. I may drive Jake, and the rest of the family, nuts as I start experiencing all the changes my body will go through over the next few weeks. Oh well.

As for Bodhi, he is kicking and moving all of the time. They are the kind of kicks that take my breath away because they scare me and usually nail me in the ribs. People warned me that this would happen but I really had no idea what to expect. It is a feeling that no one can describe to you. As painful as it is, I will miss it when it's gone. It is a pretty good trade of though, don't you think?

34 Weeks Pregnant...Baby shower at school!

I am 34 weeks pregnant and still feeling pretty good. I am teaching full time and doing my best to keep up with the kids throughout the day. I still have not figured out a word do describe the exhaustion I have been feeling, but it is all worth it. I have to keep reminding myself of that. Lately I have been having quite a few Braxton Hicks contractions during the day. They are getting more and more uncomfortable because Bodhi is getting so big. Our friends Brian and Erin call them "Baby Hugs" which I think is so cute. All in all I have been feeling really good. I think that I have had a fairly easy pregnancy compared to other people.

A couple of weeks ago, Jake and I took a baby care class. We learned how to change diapers (even cloth diapers), how to give a bath, how to take his temperature, how to swaddle, etc. It was pretty fun. Jake always says that he is nervous because he doesn't know any of that stuff, but I am here to tell you that he is better at it than he was letting on. He can swaddle and change a diaper like the best of them. He was showing ME how to do it. It was pretty awesome. I will be very lucky to have him on my team. :-)

This past week my co-workers threw us a baby shower. Jake and my mom were able to drive over to the school to be a part of the party. It was such a nice party and so many people were able to come. Everyone at work has been so loving and supportive as I have gone through the pregnancy. They have all been so amazing.

34 Weeks Pregnant!

I wanted to post some video of Bodhi moving around and kicking. It is fun to watch and feel him move around like a little alien. I also included some video of what we have done in the nursery so far. We are living with my parents right now so Bodhi's room is actually my old room...pretty cool. :-) Enjoy.

31 weeks pregnant!

Okay, these weeks are really starting to fly by. I am not sure that I like that so much. I absolutely love being pregnant. I have had such an amazing pregnancy with only a few minor bumps along the way. I am really going to miss feeling this way. I am going to miss having him with me all day every day as a constant reminder of how lucky I am. With that said, I cannot wait to meet Bodhi. I can't wait to hold him, to see his little face, and to watch him interact with all the people in his new life. I can't wait to get to know this little boy.

It is a bittersweet feeling being 31 weeks pregnant, but exciting in every way.

30 weeks pregnant...off to California!

We are officially at 30 weeks pregnant! I feel like that is quite a milestone. Things were pretty stressful for a while. We sold our condo and moved in with my parents a few weeks ago. We are SO happy to be living with them, but the move was definitely an adventure. We are just happy to finally have a place to settle in and get ready for Bodhi. :-) 10 weeks and counting... he is coming so soon.

This past weekend Jake and I took our final trip together, just the two of us. We flew out to Boulder Creek, CA for Erik and Melissa's wedding. It was so great to see everyone one last time before the baby comes. Here are some pictures from the wedding...

And then dinner after the wedding with the Valdivias and Flahertys.

The day after the wedding we explored the Mission in the small town of San Juan Bautista, just down the street from where the wedding was held.

30 Weeks pregnant!

The Valdivia Clan!

The Faherty clan!

The beautiful mission.

Hangin' with Joaquin the last night of our trip...

So great to see everyone! We can't wait for little Bodhi to meet them all.

28 weeks pregnant and the nursery...

28 weeks in and
Wifey is still struttin' her stuff

Although she doesn't really like the low angle shot, the clouds in the
background make this a pretty cool shot

If the two moles are eyes...hehe...

After many months of unrealized cravings,
Alex has finally been able to nest.
In a couple of months, little Bodhi will be movin' in...

Before we were all the way moved in Alex
made sure we set up the crib

Bodhi's future chill spot- luckily
Jumby and Mia have not discovered
how comfortable the crib is, otherwise
Bodhi would be snuggling with two kitties at night

Baby Shower

On August 8, 2009, my mom, sister, and our dear friend Kathy threw me the most amazing baby shower. I am such a lucky girl.
